Double Multi-Strand Diamond Knot (2DK4 & 2DK6)

Once you have the form of the Diamond Knot, you can double it or even triple it for more bulk or decoration. This tutorial picks up from the end of the Multi-Strand Diamond Knot tutorial. I am showing you the more popular “inner method” of doubling a Diamond Knot.
This variant tends to have a small pocket inside the knot, which can be good for surrounding a small weight for some added heft or balance to a handle. It can also be good for grabbing a knot so that you can add additional cords to a project. I will show this technique in the upcoming “Lyla’s Lashes” flogger tutorial.
Diamond knots can be done with 1 strand, 2 strands, but the technique for each of these cases is different.

Doubling a 4-Strand Diamond Knot 1/8” (3mm) on colored Paracord
18. Go to the Multi-Strand Diamond Knot tutorial, and complete the 4-strand example up through Step 18 (don’t tighten it).
Doubling a 6-Strand Diamond Knot 1/4” (6mm) on Braided Cotton Sash Cord
Go to the Multi-Strand Diamond Knot tutorial, and complete the 6-strand example up through Step 25 (only do one round of tightening to get things even, but don’t make it tight … you will need a bit of space to run the second wrap).
