Lark's Head Knot

A Lark’s head is one of the simplest sliding (collapsing loop) knots. It should not be used for bondage directly as it is a collapsing loop, but is very useful as the first step in the creation of many other kinds of ties, probably most commonly the Lark’s Head Single Column tie

1. Form a bight in the middle of the rope.

2. Take that bight, fold it down on itself

4. This creates a sliding loop. This is the lark’s head.

5. You can also do it one-handed. Drape the bight over your hand

6. Reach down and grab the tail

7. Shake the bight off your wrist and down over the tail
